This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.

The M577 is a variant of the M113 armored personnel carrier, developed for use as a mobile command post at the battalion level on the battlefield. Although it is a mobile command vehicle, it is operated by deploying a field tent from the rear of the hull after parking. Introduced to the U.S. Army in 1962, the M577 saw combat in the Vietnam War and was also used during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. It has been utilized by militaries worldwide as an armored ambulance, emergency medical treatment vehicle, and fire truck, and is also employed by police and law enforcement agencies as a tactical response vehicle. Visually, it is easily distinguished from the base M113 by its raised rear roof -- designed to allow the commander to stand upright, and the auxiliary power unit (APU) mounted on the forward roof.
